Many thanks. You can screw in a E39...but the thread of 40mm is a bit different from all other Leica lens, so it has around a 1/4 turn to srew in. But do not worry, my one has never dropped!  |

| It works on mine as well but you have to screw in more than 1/4 turn. |

我買此鏡 (eBay)時，它的 leica filter 扭唔出來。 最後用工具先除到。 我以為條 filter thread 係事先壞左。 原來其他人的也是同樣問題。 |

| Leica Summicron-C 1:2/40 lens use series 5.5 filter and attached to lens by either the rubber retractable lens hood or series 5.5 retention ring.
The thread of lens hood or retention ring is M39x26TPI; E39 filter thread is M39x1mm. There is a tiny difference between 26TPI and 1 mm pitch, forcing in the filter might damage the len's filter thread. |
